Alphonse von Altfeld is a gorgeous 2 year old German Shepherd.  Alphonse is our resident ladies’ man.  He’s a confident boy who enjoys calling the shots. He has an active mid-energy level and eagerly takes in all the world has to offer.  Alphonse is independent -- he doesn’t  necessarily seek attention but he enjoys when it is given.  A chronic tail wagger, Alphonse is very social around people.  On walks, he takes a lead position and will lead you right up to the nearest neighbor to say hello.  More than anything else, Alphonse enjoys surrounding himself with female dogs.  Around male dogs, Alphonse is still unsure if they are friend or foe but, once he realizes he’s among a group of gals, the charm turns on.  He plays with the friendly ones and minds his manners around the bossy ones. Alphonse is the type of dog who will thrive in a home with German Shepherd experience -- someone who knows how to focus all of Alphonse’s natural Shepherd assertiveness into the training he needs to become one of the best.
